William was appointed Constable in the Saint Thomas district of Orange Cou nty
on April 2, 1777, he was listed as doing patriotic service the Revolutiona ry
War. His will probated Feb... 2 1824 mentioned ten children. Five of thes e
children lived in Ashe County N.C. at sometime between 1800 and 1859. as f ar as
we can ascertain William Jr. was the first Anders to settle in Ashe County .
Most of these families changed the spelling of the name to Andrews, in the
early 1800's.

about 1914. 1968 she entered a nursing home at Griswold, Iowa. Survived by
Reid Andrews of Ronda, NC, Grady Andrews of Independence. She was preced ed in death by several brothers and sisters.
Cause of Death Cerebral-Vascular Accident due to Arteriosclerosis.
Divorce Decree from Bruce Holder 10 April 1914 Pottawattamie County, Iowa:
"You are hereby notified that on or before the 26th day of March, A. D. 1914, a petition will be filed by plaintiff, Frances Holder, in the off ice of the Clerk of the District Court, of said county, at Avoca, claimi ng of you a divorce from the bonds of matrimony on the grounds of deserti on and cruel and inhumane treatment and asking for the custody of the min or child, Oma Holder.
And unless you appear thereto and defend, before noon of the second d ay of the next term of said court, which will commence at Avoca, Iow a, on the 7th day of April, 1914, a default will be entered against you a nd judgement rendered Theron as provided by law.
Dated this 5th day of March, 1914.

N.C. and is known as the Friel Rector farm. As far as we can ascertain Wi lliam
& his wife were the first Andrews family to settle in Ashe County. They h ad
eight children we can identify.
